Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Shree DedalMata Bhajnawali app (package com.samroid.shreededalmatabhajnawali) handles information. The app is developed and published by Samroid Apps. It is a free, fully offline devotional app dedicated to Dedal Mata (Dedal Dadi / Dedal Sati Dadi), offering bhajan, aarti, chalisa, the Dedal Dadi Mangal Path, the Narayani Charit Manas and content for five deities. Our approach is simple and deliberate: we do not collect your personal data. This policy also works alongside our Terms of Use and our Data Deletion page, which together describe your relationship with the app.

1. Who we are

The app is published by Samroid Apps, an independent developer of devotional Android applications. For all matters described in this policy, Samroid Apps is the party responsible for the app and can be reached at [email protected].

Shree DedalMata Bhajnawali is a free Android app built with React Native. It is completely free to use: there are no advertisements, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no user accounts and no login. All devotional content is bundled inside the app and can be read fully offline, so the app does not depend on any server of ours to function.

2. Our privacy principles

• No personal data collection. We designed the app so it does not need to know who you are.
• Your device, your data. Your reading preferences stay on your phone and never reach us.
• Anonymous only. The limited analytics we use is aggregate and anonymous — never tied to your identity.
• No selling, no ad profiling. We never sell data and never build advertising profiles.
• Offline by design. Scripture and reading features work with no network connection at all.

3. Information we do NOT collect

To be completely clear, the app does not collect any of the following from you:

• Your name, email address or phone number;
• Your contacts, call logs or messages;
• Your location — neither approximate nor precise;
• Precise persistent identifiers used to track you across apps or services;
• Photos, files or any other content from your device;
• Any account credentials — because there is no account and no login.

4. Information that may be processed

While we do not collect personal data, a small amount of non-identifying information is involved in running the app. It falls into three categories.

a. Local settings via AsyncStorage

Your preferences — such as font size, theme (dark/light), reading background, chosen language and auto-scroll setting — are saved only on your own device using local AsyncStorage. This information never leaves your phone, is never transmitted to us, and exists purely so the app remembers how you like to read. You can erase it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling, as described on our Data Deletion page.

b. Anonymous analytics & diagnostics via Firebase

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics to understand, in an anonymous and aggregate way, how the app is used and to help diagnose problems. This may include categories such as:

• App-activity events — for example that a screen was opened or a feature was used;
• General device and diagnostic information — for example device model, operating-system version, app version, language and region at a coarse level, and crash or stability data.
• An app-instance identifier — Firebase generates a random identifier for each installation of the app (a Firebase installation ID, and an equivalent identifier used by Crashlytics) so that separate events can be recognised as coming from the same installation. It is created by the app, is not your Advertising ID and is not a device serial number, it is not linked to your name or any account, it is not shared with anyone else, and it is discarded when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
• Crash reports — when the app stops unexpectedly, Crashlytics records the technical details of the failure (the error and where in the code it happened), together with your reading preferences such as chosen font size, language and background, so the fault can be reproduced and fixed.

This information is used to see which parts of the app are popular and where problems occur. It is not linked to your identity, is never sold, and is never used to serve advertising.

The app does not record what you type into the search box. When you use search, only the fact that a search happened — along with how many characters were typed and how many results were found — is recorded. The words themselves never leave your device.

The app also does not request or use your device's Advertising ID; that permission is explicitly removed from the app.

c. Google Play aggregate stats

When you install the app from Google Play, the store itself provides us with aggregate, anonymised statistics — such as total installs, uninstalls, device types and country-level breakdowns. These come from Google Play, are not tied to individual identifiable users, and are governed by Google's own policies.

5. How information is used

Any anonymous, aggregate information that is processed is used only to:

• Understand which parts of the app are used, so we can improve the reading experience;
• Detect crashes and technical issues and improve stability and performance;
• Guide decisions about future devotional content and features.

We do not build advertising profiles and we do not attempt to identify individual users. Your local settings are used solely to render the app the way you prefer.

6. Data sharing & disclosure

We keep sharing to an absolute minimum:

• No sharing for advertising. We do not sell your data and we do not share data with advertisers or ad networks. The app contains no ads.
• Google as a processor. The anonymous analytics and diagnostic information is processed by Google as part of the Firebase Analytics service, acting as our service provider under Google's terms and privacy policy. Distribution statistics are handled by Google Play in the same way.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process or an enforceable governmental request. In practice, because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing personally identifying for us to disclose.

7. Data retention

Your local settings remain on your device for as long as the app is installed, and are removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall. Anonymous analytics and diagnostic data is retained by Google according to Firebase's standard retention settings and policies. We hold no personal profile of you on any server, so there is no personal data on our side to retain or delete. For step-by-step removal, see Data Deletion.

8. Data security

Because all devotional content is bundled inside the app and the app is designed to work fully offline, there is very little data in motion to secure. Your reading settings never leave your device. Anonymous analytics is transmitted to Firebase over encrypted connections managed by Google's infrastructure. Since we do not operate a user-account system or upload your content, there is no personal data held on our servers that could be lost or exposed. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but the app's offline, account-free design keeps your exposure to a minimum by default.

9. Children's privacy

The app contains devotional reading content and is suitable for a general audience of all ages. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 for the purpose of collecting personal data, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, this holds true for younger users as well. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will address it, although by design there is no mechanism for such data to be collected.

10. App permissions

On Android, the app requests only one permission:

• INTERNET — used solely to send anonymous analytics and diagnostic information to Firebase. All scripture and reading content is bundled with the app and does not require internet access to read. The app requests no other permission — no location, no contacts, no storage, no camera, no microphone.

11. Third-party services

The app relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Play — for distribution and installation of the app, and for aggregate install statistics.
• Google Firebase Analytics — for anonymous, aggregate usage information.
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reports and stability diagnostics.

12. Your rights & choices

Even though we do not collect personal data, you remain in full control:

• Opt out of analytics: You can limit or reset analytics and ad-personalisation at the device level through your Android device settings (for example by resetting your Advertising ID or limiting ad/analytics tracking).
• Clear app data: You can clear the app's locally stored settings at any time from your device's app settings.
• Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all locally stored preferences.
• Email us: You can contact us at [email protected] with any privacy request.

13. International users

The app is offered from India and may be used by devotees around the world. Regardless of where you are located, the app's practices remain the same: no personal data is collected, and only anonymous, aggregate analytics is processed by Google as described above. Where analytics data is processed, it is handled through Google's global infrastructure under Google's own safeguards. By using the app, you understand that this limited, anonymous processing may occur.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if features or third-party services change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the app after any update means you accept the revised policy.
